Roman Novotný teaches at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, where he is part of the project Social Innovation in Libraries and is also a doctoral student in a program Digital Culture and Creative Industries. He deals with issues related to design theory and practice, design thinking, urbanism and smart cities. In his approach he tries to connect these themes with current philosophical thinking associated with names such as Benjamin Bratton, Keller Easterling or speculative realism.
